forgotten negative

Buongiorno,

Because of the last intensive session of darkroom printing I finally got to play with my forgotten first ever developed negative. Even though it is not the best developing job, these photos means a world to me. They were taken during my most memorable birthday ever. It was at the time of my trip through Italy with Andrea some 1,5 years ago. We were in Tuscany. First photo below is a famous Fiorentina, undoubtedly the nicest beef I've have ever tried. But it was people that make it special so once again big love for Andrea and Simone for the effort, and making that few days remarkable! If you look through the second photo you can get a brief overview on the rest of the trip and places we went to see. ;)

So finally it happened. My first exhibition.... Quite a last minute call but still pretty exciting. Finished printing yesterday so the rest is up to the organisers- Craig Barrowman from Slay Dog to install everything in bar99 and then BRING ON! opening party! For a little sneak peak Ive scanned some of the test strips from the work that will be hang up!

Well, it took me a while to get these developed.. Exhibition "Futrurising" by Kieran Mccruden. Photos from the opening day. Got there a wee bit earlier so found Kieran adding final touches to his masterpiece. I say masterpiece because I was lucky enough to be part of it. Yeah my first modelling session lol Unfortunately he took it off yesterday so at least you can see it here. All of his the photos are b&w developed, edited in darkroom and hand printed... I really like the post processed final versions and it was a pleasure to work with Kieran!

As fighting the urge of writing B I G coursework, decided to write something less needed. Here a couple of landscapes and street shoots from the most vibrant, and interesting town to visit: Stirling..... NOT Ive been told after coming back that even Kinross looks like a Time Square compared to it, and must admit it can't be more right. Don't get me wrong, Castle and Wallace monument were pleasant for the eye, but started to count amount of times I crossed the main street and in 2 days it was a double digit figure. All in all, not the best place for partying, going out and staying more then few hours but worth stopping by.

A little bit late but I hope everyone had awesome, boring with loads of free time to sit and do nothing Christmas. I finally made it home for all Christmas first time in 3 years... :) Here some of friends and family that made that time special. Thanks! x

So, another long break... During that time I parted from my Canon and decided to turn to the dark side of film photography exclusively. Reasons being that I got bored with to many photos going through photoshop machine and with film you have this cliche of excitement with anticipation for getting negatives developed. So today Postman Pat was nice enough to bring me my Voightlander Nokton 35mm 1.4 so was hyped to go and test it. Firstly I had to buy batteries for cameras light meter and spent 0.5h in Boots with a guy from photo department crying over my camera thinking that light meter is broken when realised that light meter works only when the lens cap is off..... Nooobs!!! Because my dissertation proposal is due on Monday(best time to test camera) then all the test field was around the library, which sadly became my new home lately. Yes thats how I spend Saturdays nowadays. This is the first and the last colour film I went through with rangefinder as want to do B&W only... its just easier and cheaper for self-developing. ( btw massive thanks to Kieran for darkroom lesson). All the photos taken with (Leica m6 + nokton 35mm 1.4)
